You see a one-year jump right after WWII, a steady increase as the Boomers reached drinking age, a decline as people moved to "drink better, not more" plus drunk driving became at no-no, a nice, long increase after the "French Paradox" on 60 Minutes, then the recent steep drop off post-pandemic.

Millennials have taken over as the biggest generation of wine drinkers, but are drinking less overall, and drinking other beverages more than did the Boomers.
