Sonoma Wineries With Sculpture Gardens

Sometimes you might want something a little different from just a standard wine tasting. Maybe a little art. A couple wineries known for there sculpture gardens on their sprawling estates are Donum and Paradise Ridge.

Donum Estate

This impressive vineyard is in southern Sonoma County in the Carneros growing area. This region specializes in chardonnay and pinot noir as does this winery. Donum is owned by a billionaire who has no problem putting money into the artwork and it's spectacular.

The tour and tasting goes for $75 with the wines mostly in the $50 to $100 range. The only way to get to the artwork is with a tasting.

Paradise Ridge

This is a family run estate of wine and art. You may remember them in the news a few years ago when the winery was lost to the Tubbs wildfire (the sculptures survived). They have rebuilt with the winery building and art better than ever. Most of the art here is on loan so it may change out every year. Much is from Burning Man.

Paradise Ridge sits on a hill on the edge of the town of Santa Rosa in the Russian River Valley. Much of their fruit also comes from the not well-known, but spectacular growing area, of Rockpile. They make a bit of everything from sauvignon blanc to zinfandel.

Tastings are $25 or $35. Wine prices are from the mid-20s to the 60 dollar range. The artwork open to the public. It's a popular "park walk" for the locals.
