In 2025 the U.S. wine market grew by 3% in dollars, but loss 4% in market volume.

Flavored wine sales are up, sparkling wine sales are down. Flavored wines are lower-alcohol wines with added flavors turning it into a casual canned drink that can be sweet and sparkling.

Some wineries are getting by with private brand labels. This is bottling their wine under another company's name. Our local grocery store with four stores in the county now has a full line of wines with their name on it. A couple small family wineries in Dry Creek are supplying them.

A significant number or Gen Zs, the newest drinkers, and Millennials, the group drinking the most wine, say they are interested in drinking more wine. So why aren't they? Opportunity? Cost?
