Visiting Sonoma - Kids, Dogs, Food, Etc.

Kids get bored, dogs get in the way if the tasting area is crowded or aren't allowed at all. There are a few wineries that don't allow anyone under 21 to enter. Those are mostly ones requiring appointments. Find out before you go.

Coppola has a pool!

Some of the more kid-friendly spots (usually because they have things to keep the kiddies interested) are Cline in Sonoma, Francis Ford Coppola in Geyserville, Larson in Sonoma, and Preston in Healdsburg. Just remember the winery staff is not there to babysit.

Many of the tasting rooms in the town of Healdsburg allow dogs as it's always been a dog-friendly town. Sometimes wineries don't allow animals because of food service and county health rules. The winery staff knows the difference between a service animal and a poodle in your purse.

Those having picnic areas will allow you to bring your own food and non-alcoholic drinks or they may sell food items onsite. Some even allow you to bring your pooch. Taking your own food into a tasting room and setting up on the bar is a no-no.

Always check with the winery first so you won't be turned away!
