Sonoma County Best Value Wineries

You wouldn't know it by some wine reviews you read, but not everyone wants to spend $125 on a bottle of Napa Cab or $75 on a Sonoma Pinot Noir. Here are wineries that offer reasonably priced quality wines in Sonoma County.

From Sonoma Magazine, their list of Ten Best Value Wineries

Their ten best are Alexander Valley Vyds, Carol Shelton, Cline, DeLoach, Dry Creek Vyds, Ferrari-Carano, Peterson, Rodney Strong, Pedroncelli, and St. Francis. These are all good quality wineries with at least a few inexpensive offerings. Most will have some higher-priced wines, too. Another I would add is Korbel for inexpensive sparkling wines.

Some of the best bang for the buck wines from the Sonoma Mag winery list are below. I'm not familiar with all the wines from these places, of course. The most expensive wine here is $26.

  • Alexander Valley Vineyards Cabernet Sauvignon and Zinfandel
  • Carol Shelton Lodi Zinfandel
  • Cline Ancient Vines Zinfandel
  • Dry Creek Vineyards Fume Blanc, Sauvignon Blanc, Heritage Vines Zinfandel
  • Peterson Dry Creek Zinfandel
  • Pedroncelli Mother Clone Zinfandel
  • St. Francis Sonoma County Old Vine Zinfandel

Alexander Valley, Cline, Peterson, and Pedroncelli have mostly low-priced wines, so you can value shop at any of these.
