Wine Life in 2021

Once we have our vaccine and herd immunity (and I'm hoping this is in a few months) what happens to wine and the wine business?

Online wine sales. Wineries would love for these direct-to-consumer sales to continue at their current pace, but with people returning to the stores to shop who knows. Maybe individual wineries should think about what they could do to help convince people to buy online. One way is an easy-to-use web store; the other one is free or very cheap shipping. A good online presence is easy to agree on; not everyone is keen on absorbing shipping costs.

Wineries and Vineyards. Will we see more for sale signs or even some wineries closing up shop? This depends on how long the various forms of lockdown go on.

Life after Covid. The all encompassing question is will everything go back to the good ol' days of 2019 or will life-styles settle into some kind of new normal? Will people take big vacation trips, will they go on weekend wine tasting trips, will they go out to eat? People traveling affect the number of visitors to wineries; going out to eat affects wine sales to restaurants. The hospitality industry is a huge part of the local economy and it's directly affected by whether or not people are willing to travel again.
