It's just about the end of the harvest for everyone, though there's still plenty to do in the cellar. So, how do things looks this year for North Coast wine grapes?

Last year's winter was quite wet. That usually means healthy vines and irrigation is available where and when needed. The growing season got off to a cool start. The later months were warm, but no big heat waves. This should lead to great flavor development, lower alcohol levels, and the potential for ageable wines. The harvest kicked off later than the past couple of years, and on more of a normal schedule.
Yes, winemakers seem pretty excited about this year's crop and are saying good things about it, but that's par for the course. Nobody wants to throw shade on a vintage before it's even in the bottle. :) But Mother Nature did her part, now it's up to the winemakers.
