Sonoma County - What's Not to Love

If I didn't live here in Sonoma County this spot would be at the top of my list of places to visit. Why? There are many reasons.

Let's start with the obvious one:

Wine
But you knew that. It's world-class wine. Plus wineries are fun to visit. Vineyards are beautiful to look at.

Food
Where there's world-class wine you usually find world-class eats. Sonoma County is full of them! Californian, Italian, South of the Border (not just Mexican), Asian, beef, seafood, etc.

Beer
You knew about the wine, but maybe not about the beer. Sonoma County is considered one of the top places in the country for craft beer.

Natural Beauty
Ocean coastline, redwoods, hills, valleys, and rivers. It's all purdy.

Weather
In some parts of the country they say, "If you don't like the weather wait a minute." In Sonoma County it's, "If you don't like the weather drive ten miles." It's micro-climates and they are prevalent especially in the warmer months.
Another is the daily swing in temperatures. A typical remark from a visitor, especially one from the South, "It sure got chilly last night and was still cool this morning." My response, "Did you sleep well last night?" Visitor, "I sure did." Me, "And so did the grapes." Premium wine grapes love a cool down rest period where they don't have to be producing sugar. It's one of the secrets to growing great wine grapes.
