How many glasses of wine a day?

You've got to wonder with all the health-related news about wine what's the proper amount to consume. Well, I'm here to do the math for you and the news is all good. Well, almost all good. Your evenings are going to be pretty booked up now.

From various news articles on the health benefits of red wine:

Weight Loss
This is the latest study saying two glasses every evening will help burn fat.

Reduces Heart Attack Risk
This one is well-known and maybe the "granddaddy" of all red wine benefits.

Lowers Risk of Heart Disease
The tannins in red wines have antioxidants that increase your good cholesterol.

Lowers Risk of Type 2 Diabetes
Moderate drinkers are much less likely to get diabetes.

Lowers Risk of Stroke
Moderate drinkers have half the risk of stroke.

Lowers Risk of Cataracts
Moderate wine drinkers are less likely to get cataracts compared to non-drinkers or beer drinkers.

Lowers Risk of Cancer
Moderate consumption of red wine cuts the risk of breast, colon and prostate cancers.

Lowers Risk of Head Colds
Wine drinkers are less likely to get colds compared to beer and spirits drinkers.

Betty knows
Better Short Term Memory
Resveratrol in red wines increases short term memory.

Working Out
A glass of wine equals an hour at the gym.

Liver Disease
A glass of wine a day cuts your risk of liver disease.

Healthy Teeth
Wine can help kill plaque-causing bacteria living on your teeth.

Depression
Two-to-seven glasses a week lowers the risk of depression. Wine drinkers are happy people!

Slows Brain Decline
As we age the brain declines much faster in non-drinkers than in moderate drinkers.

Promotes a Longer Life
Mortality rate is lower among wine drinkers compared to beer or spirits drinkers.

Some of these benefits say one glass of wine a day is required. Others just say a "moderate consumption." That is defined as two glasses daily. Although some will say one glass for women. Sorry ladies, but it you weigh 95 pounds dripping wet then you may not be able to keep up with the guys.

There are 15 benefits listed above. Three of them call for one glass a day leaving a dozen calling for two glasses. So my math says (3 x 1) + (12 x 2) = 27 glasses a day!

I suggest you get started now.
