Social Media and Selling Wine

"Everybody" says social media channels are the way to promote your wine today. Well, not exactly. It's not the only way you should be promoting your brand and maybe not even the most important.


The Boomers are still the biggest generation that's spending on wine. As to be expected the different generations have different views of Facebook, Instagram, blogging, etc. From a survey reported on by eMarketer the old folks just don't trust social media wine ads or wine influencers that much.

Over a third of Millennials say they have faith in social media ads and influencers for wine recommendations, but less than ten percent of Boomers do. So it appears you still need to reach your biggest buying group using the old fashioned channels -- email, phone, print, wine competitions, etc.
